If you are a Design Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow Emerson has an exciting role for you! Based out of our Design and Manufacturing facility in our Shakopee MN location you will support the development of proven technologies products and processes to meet quality performance cost and schedule goals.

In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Apply advanced technical expertise to lead the development and optimization of products and processes independently executing engineering activities involving proven and emerging technologies with moderate to high technical complexity and risk.
  • Lead the design of new products and major modifications to existing products by leveraging deep knowledge of product applications industry standards and Emerson engineering practices.
  • Work primarily in an office environment with regular hands-on involvement in shop and lab environments to validate designs support testing and collaborate with manufacturing teams.
  • Develop manage and optimize Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing sequence routes ensuring accuracy efficiency and alignment with best practices.
  • Independently initiate and oversee engineering change authorizations (ECAs) ensuring thorough technical justification and cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide high-level technical support and mentorship to manufacturing supply chain marketing vendors and customers on complex technical matters product performance issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Create review and approve detailed product documentation ensuring clarity completeness and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain expert awareness of relevant regulatory and certification requirements ensuring product designs and manufacturing methods meet all applicable standards.
  • Develop and execute multi-month project plans balancing resources risk and schedule to deliver on business and product objectives.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional efforts required to execute engineering tasks and support program objectives.

For This Role You Will Need:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Proficiency in LabView
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineeringthat is ABET-accredited
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Word PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with parametric CAD software Creo preferred
  • Familiarity with simulation software Ansys preferred
  • Familiarity with welding and additive manufacturing
  • Basic understanding of simple mechanical systems (interest or understanding with using LabView to automate is preferred)
  • Familiarity with use of basic hand and small power tools

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary within the local market in which we operate and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $122000-$136000annually commensurate with the skills talent capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
