Reporting to: Head of Inclusion and Student Wellbeing
In order to fill this role effectively the successful candidate will need to have a diverse range of qualities competencies and experience. A MS Learning Support Teacher should be an inspirational passionate and adaptable educator with the ability to deliver an inquirybased transdisciplinary program. He/She should be an outstanding teacher motivator learner and communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and should be capable of preparing students for international programs in a stimulating challenging and wellorganised learning environment. He/She should be able to provide professional expertise high quality teaching and learning make effective use of resources and ensure improved standards of learning and achievement for all students.
Requirements
Qualifications and experience.
- Degreelevel qualification in education special education or a related field
- Experience in supporting middle school students particularly in an IB setting
- Familiarity with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and its framework
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and ability to support students academic social and emotional needs
- Alignment with IB Learner Profile and IB Mission
- Understanding the principles of internationalmindedness and the holistic development of students.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to a multicultural environment and effectively communicate with students parents and staff.
- Proficiency in differentiated instruction and assessment to meet diverse learning needs.
- Experience in implementing and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Learning Plans.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Learning Support Assistants to provide consistent and cohesive support in and out of the classroom.
- Skills in parent communication to ensure they are well informed and engaged in their childs progress.
- Collaboration with Learning Support Assistants
- Coordinate with Learning Support Assistants to ensure that students receive appropriate and timely support both in the classroom and in targeted intervention sessions.
- Active participation in the Student Support Team and Student Inclusion Meetings
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to address students needs holistically.
- Continuously seek learning opportunities particularly in areas related to the IB MYP differentiation strategies and adolescent psychology.
- Involvement in school life
- Participate in extracurricular activities to build strong relationships with students and support their overall development.
- Monitor and support students progress
- Regularly assess and review students progress using data to inform support strategies and adjust plans as necessary.
- Design and implement intervention plans
