Job Summary

Supporting the Canadian Armed Forces Joint Operational Area Middle East ATLAS is seeking experienced Arabic linguists to support Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) operations in Kuwait and Jordan. Linguists will play a vital role in enabling effective communication cultural understanding and operational coordination in support of Canada s defense and diplomatic missions across the region.

Linguists will work directly with CAF personnel partner nation forces and local stakeholders to translate written materials interpret verbal exchanges and provide essential cultural insight. Assignments may include interviews leadership engagements official correspondence and daytoday operational support.

Arabic Linguist (U.S. or Canadian Citizens)

Location: Kuwait or Jordan

Requirements:

Iraqiborn U.S. or Canadian citizen
Active Secret clearance at a minimum
Native speaker of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) Arabic Dialect (AD) and Iraqi Dialect (DG)
TOEIC score of 785 940 or equivalent (ILR 3 in English
Minimum 3 years of experience in a military or operational linguist role
Willing to deploy to Kuwait and/or Jordan
Management or leadership experience is preferred

Responsibilities:

Translate written documents reports and official correspondence
Interpret verbal communications in realtime including meetings and field engagements
Facilitate communication between CAF and host nation security forces
Provide cultural guidance to ensure operational alignment with local customs and norms
Support inspections briefings and interviews as required by CAF

Local National Linguist (Jordanian Citizens)

Location: Jordan

Requirements:

Jordanian citizen
Cleared through local security vetting
Native speaker of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) Arabic Dialect (AD) and Iraqi Dialect (DG)
TOEIC score of 945 990 or equivalent (ILR 3 in English
Prior experience supporting military security or international missions preferred

Responsibilities:

Provide translation and interpretation for CAF activities in Jordan
Support CAF with logistics coordination civilmilitary interactions and operational communication
Assist in briefings community engagements and other missioncritical events
Deliver cultural and situational context to enhance the effectiveness of deployed personnel
Respond to shortnotice assignments within designated locations as needed
