Position Title:
Administrative Services Officer
Location: Phoenix AZ (Hybrid 60% onsite 40% remote)
Position Overview: The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (AZDEQ) Waste Programs Division is seeking two Administrative Services Officers to provide high-level administrative support. This is a staff augmentation role for approximately 90 days with the possibility of extension.
Key Details: - Start Date: 01/05/2026 (or earlier upon onboarding completion)
- Hours: 40 hours/week Day Shift (8:00 AM 5:00 PM)
- Location: 1110 W. Washington Street Phoenix AZ
- Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite per week
- Billing Type: Hourly
- Travel: Not required
Responsibilities: - Manage and monitor team email inbox multiple times daily
- Save and organize incoming documents
- Track data in spreadsheets and dashboards
- Conduct daily meetings with manager and frequent team check-ins
- Report late responses and follow up as needed
- Draft letters and email correspondence
- Maintain calendar events and scheduling
- Be available via Google Meet chat or phone throughout the day
- Handle confidential data with discretion
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Required Skills: - Strong computer skills and proficiency in Google Suite
- Ability to manage high-volume tasks and adapt to frequent changes
- Experience following structured workflows
- Quick response to emails and requests
- Familiarity with business software
Preferred:
- Prior administrative experience or certifications
Education: - High School Diploma or GED required
Additional Information: - Candidates must be local to Phoenix AZ and available for in-person interviews within one week of posting close date
- Must have reliable internet and a home workstation for remote work
- Cover letter and R2R required with submission
- Position may be extended beyond 90 days
