Multimedia Developer (Hybrid Eligible)

This position conceptualizes processes and produces audio video animations and interactive multimedia collateral for a variety of audiences platforms and outcomes.

This position may have the opportunity to work hybrid where a mix of in-person work from a Boise State worksite and an alternative work location is utilized. Candidates must be able to work on-site as needed.

This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

The Boise State eCampus Center is dedicated to expanding online degrees and classes beyond the traditional boundaries to meet the academic needs of students anytime and anywhere. We partner with faculty departments and leadership to create a high-quality online learning environment for students at Boise State and around the world. This position will contribute to creating high-quality media for online courses and fully online programs.

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills policies and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Apply visual design best practice principles to the design and development of static and interactive elements (graphics videos animations interactive simulations etc.) while maintaining university branding/graphics standards.
Manage multiple simultaneous projects to reach targets staying on schedule and on budget.
Understand and maintain the branding identity strategy for programs.
Create multimedia content for a variety of media platforms.
Record and edit video and audio and provide direction/assistance to students who assist with video editing and export.
Perform usability testing and quality assurance of media elements used across platforms. Ensure media is accessible for all users including those with disabilities.
Provide initial conception (storyboarding etc.) and estimates for media development. Develop layout and concept designs for approvals.
Collaborate and communicate closely with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external on all aspects of projects including planning content production level and platforms turnaround time corrections approvals and project estimates.
Leverage analytics to determine the effectiveness of activities and make continual improvements.
Provide media expertise and guidance to other team members and stakeholders.
Research new creative tools and techniques to improve the student experience.
Contributing to a portfolio of innovative media elements for instructional designers to reference.
Perform other duties as needed.

Possess graphic design typography video and multimedia development skills.
Apply experience and knowledge with best practices to create accessible multimedia collateral.
Complete and balance multiple projects demonstrating strong conceptual and analytical skills planning abilities and sound judgment.
Willingly effectively and proactively communicate and collaborate with colleagues supervisors and stakeholders.
Must be familiar with current digital best practices and be able to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
Willingness to give and receive critical feedback with an open mind.
Thinking outside the box and finding new or better ways to solve problems more effectively.
Ability to provide effective customer service and to actively listen and appropriately respond to colleagues stakeholders and supervisor needs/requests.
Understanding of instructional design principles.
Knowledge in 3D AR/VR or animation.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Bachelors Degree and 2 years of professional/relevant experience or equivalent.

Four (4) years of demonstrated experience creating multimedia for instructional purposes.
2 years of experience with Adobe CC Illustrator Photoshop Premiere Pro and After Effects.
1 year of experience with professional camera equipment lighting audio and green-screening techniques and proficient with Canon camera systems.
1 year of experience working in Canvas (LMS) and Panopto.
1 year of experience building educational games or interactives using H5P or other interactive tools etc.
Experience with project management team leadership and systems implementation and development.
Experience using Quickbase (Project Management System/Database).
