Job Description:
Working with the production and planning teams while overseeing the department which operates across two shifts this position will:
- Lead the team of employees including but not limited to the Saw Manual Mill CNC Lathe and CNC Mill Operators
- Manage employee performance including ensuring accuracy standard of performance for both quality and quantity / output of work
- Utilize the ERP system to schedule and assign work orders based on priority machine capacity and machinist ability
- Train employees working on various shifts. This includes the operation programming materials tooling quality process improvements and safety initiatives
- Program using Mastercam for SolidWorks
- Evaluate department needs and ensure machines are operating efficiently
- Assist Machinists with technical questions and give direction
- Communicate company information hold people accountable to company expectations assist in supporting positive company culture
- Communicate any issues that need addressed to management
- Assists with performance reviews for staff
- Move product and equipment as needed
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5-7 years of Machining experience. Preferably CNC Vertical milling and CNC Lathe experience. Job shop environment
- 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2-year technical degree required in machining
- Experience working with large machines and parts preferred.
- Excellent people skills.
- Experience in quality management systems
- Experience with implementing or working in a Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel & Word primarily
- Proficient in Mastercam and Mastercam for SolidWorks
