Job Summary

We are looking for an agile and passionate public policy and government relations leader who will craft and implement public affairs strategies at the EU level for our packaging business. This person will actively engage in advocacy at EU level. This role requires an expert who develops and implements an EU regulations specific public affairs strategy in alignment with the organizations objectives. You will be a part of an amazing global corporate affairs team and have support from colleagues of different backgrounds and profiles.
This position is based in Brussels Belgium
What you will do
- Plan direct and monitor regulatory developments assess their potential impacts on Tetra Pak elevate issues and propose/initiate advocacy measures as appropriate.
- Build coordinate and sustain relationships with policy stakeholders (including stakeholder mapping systematic engagement plans).
- Develop coordinate and implement advocacy campaigns aimed at EU institutions NGOs and other key stakeholders.
- Advocacy communications: High proficiency in developing policy communications (policy papers speeches briefings) policy event organisation and management.
- Be a known and recognised functional/technical expert and thought leader and deliver understandable advocacy narratives.
- Represent Tetra Pak in industry associations and stakeholder platforms.
- Lead/foster cross functional collaboration internally and externally.
- Integrate advocacy communications in close collaboration with our communications functions
- Work closely with colleagues in EU Member States.
We believe you have
- Education background: MBA/MSc/MA or equivalent in communications economics or law
- Min 7 years of experience in Advocacy and Public Affairs.
- Profound understanding of relevant EU public policy objectives regulation and political/regulatory decision-making processes (formal and informal).
- Experience is food and beverage industry with distinct advantage if you have packaging knowledge
- Ability to drive agenda around EU regulations including:
- Able to define and gain support from policy stakeholders for Tetra Pak and industry views build consensus and find compromise where needed handle difficult situations.
- Effective monitoring and anticipation of potential regulatory business risks and mitigation
- Advocate for all packaging relevant policy files in a diplomatic and effective manner
- Relationships building with key external decision makers and their influencers
- Informing main internal stakeholders on the policy developments and impact
- Coordinate policy actions with colleagues responsible for Member States
- Confidence in issue management government and regulatory affairs.
- Excellent networking skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills internally as well as externally
- Team player composed and articulate
- Fluent in English (mother-tongue level) and French fluency as advantage
