AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Leidos is seeking an AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer with an active TS/SCI to support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Ohio. This role combines strong technical expertise with excellent collaboration skills working alongside government personnel contractors and a team of engineers and scientists to solve complex challenges involving highly advanced systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and integrate system models (satellites radars aircraft missiles command & control) into a large-scale many-on-many AFSIM simulation environment.
• Collaborate closely with a small cross-functional team of government and contractor staff.
• Create AFSIM representations of space and ground systems for AF/DoD use applying engineering judgment to address intelligence gaps and accurately model real-world systems.
• Utilize CI/CD tools to test and evaluate AFSIM models prior to delivery.
• Prepare documentation analytic reports and multimedia products to support mission objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelors degree in CS CE EE or related field with 8 years of experience; OR Masters degree with 6 years of experience. Equivalent experience training or certifications may be accepted in place of a degree.
• Proficiency in C and Modeling & Simulation (M&S) techniques.
• Experience with CMake and Visual Studio for building and compiling AFSIM extensions and plug-ins.
• Experience with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation Integration and Modeling) including extensions and plug-ins.
• Strong English-language writing and briefing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a highly technical collaborative environment.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a mixed government-contractor setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in CS CE EE or related field.
• Prior experience at NSIC or NASIC working with Intelligence Community models and all-source analysis.
• Familiarity with radars aircraft missiles space vehicles and tools such as MATLAB Simulink and Simulink Coder.
