Machine Shop Lead
Position Description
The 2nd Shift CNC Department Lead oversees daily CNC machining operations during the second shift ensuring production goals are met safely efficiently and in accordance with quality standards. This role provides technical support assigns work trains operators and serves as the primary point of contact for shift-to-shift communication
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead CNC machinists and operators on 2nd shift
- Set up troubleshoot and run CNC machines and other equipment
- Ensure adherence to production schedules quality standards and safety protocols
- Provide hands-on technical support in machining tooling setup programming and troubleshooting
- Train new hires and cross-train team members to improve department flexibility
- Collaborate with engineering quality and planning teams to resolve production issues and optimize processes
- Review and interpret blueprints work orders and specifications to ensure products meet customer and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of production labor and material usage
- Promote a culture of safety teamwork and continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work overtime as needed

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or apprenticeship preferred
- 5 years of hands-on machining experience including CNC programming and operation
- 1 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Strong knowledge of machining processes tooling materials and inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent problem-solving communication and leadership skills
- Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

40 - 45 per hour
