Salary Band $122570 - $130 295 p.a pro rata Kiwisaver

About the Role

This pivotal position leads our Quality Management System (QMS) and champions staff engagement in quality processes to ensure safe accurate and consistently high-quality radiation therapy across the Southern Blood and Cancer Service. As the Quality Radiation Therapist youll drive quality excellence strengthen patient safety systems and support continuous improvement throughout Radiation Oncology.

In this role you will:

  • Lead QMS planning and implementation aligning quality initiatives with service-wide strategic goals.
  • Coordinate audits analyse outcomes and translate findings into meaningful service improvements.
  • Support compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards ensuring evidence-based practice across protocols procedures and guidelines.
  • Oversee incident management processes including RCA facilitation trend analysis and sharing of lessons learned.
  • Act as custodian of controlled documents ensuring clinical guidelines policies and patient information remain current and accessible.
  • Mentor and train staff in QMS audit practice and safety protocols fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams providing expert quality leadership.

About you

Youre an experienced Radiation Therapist with strong quality safety and leadership capability ready to champion excellence and equity within a dynamic oncology service. You bring clinical credibility a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to lead improvement with clarity and collaboration.

You will have:

  • MRTB registration (or eligibility) and a current APC (scope of practice-Radiation Therapy).
  • Minimum four years clinical experience including three years current.
  • Strong QA/QMS knowledge audit experience and credibility among clinical peers.
  • Excellent communication organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure adapt and commit to ongoing development.

  • Build strong relationships across teams sectors and communities.
  • Take ownership deliver results and demonstrate integrity and self-awareness.

Salary:

This role belongs to theAPEX Radiation Therapists collective agreement (08 April 2024 - 07 April 2026) With the Designated C positions PayScale- Step 1 $122570 toEnhanced Step C3- $130 295.
