Contract /Temporary Assignment Role upto 12 months
Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Our Realty Portfolio Team is looking for a Portfolio Coordinator for a Contract Role up to 12 months eligible for extension subject to operational requirements to support the daily administration and management of Metrolinxs real estate portfolio with a particular focus on the collection and tracking of funds owed to Metrolinx through our multiple real estate agreements.
What will I be doing
- Leads the day-to-day invoicing and collection of Accounts Receivable for tenants within the Metrolinx real estate portfolio ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Set up receivable accounts and billing schedules in Oracle Unifier based on the financial obligations outlined in leases licences easements and other real estate agreements.
- Monitors AR aging and provide regular status updates on collection efforts including recommended next steps for overdue accounts.
- Documents collection activity maintaining consistent contact intervals with outstanding tenants and applying appropriate escalation procedures when required.
- Interprets key financial terms in real estate contracts including rent schedules operating cost provisions and payment obligations to ensure correct billing and recoveries.
- Works with Accounting in allocating deposits preparing write-offs quarterly budget estimates and any other queries.
- Proactively monitors Metrolinxs real estate data to ensure its integrity.
- Identifies gaps issues and best practices and ensures that the software is functioning effectively and efficiently.
- Offers input and provides analysis to support continuous improvement of business processes and procedures related to Real Estate Managements evolving requirements.
- Reviews financial and scheduling commitments for compliance with corporate policies and the terms of real estate agreements.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a diploma in Business Administration Real Estate Property Management Accounting or related field or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated progressive experience/training with Accounts Receivable including revenue setup billing collections and financial reporting within a commercial real estate or property management environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret commercial lease agreements including understanding of rent schedules financial obligations indexing/escalations operating cost provisions license fees abatements and other monetary terms.
- An understanding of the processes of real property acquisition and disposition particularly in a public sector context.
- Experience with computer applications (e.g. MS Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint etc.) databases timekeeping systems and other application software.
- Interpersonal customer service and oral/written communication skills to respond to or direct enquiries interact with and provide support to all staff levels and to generate a variety of correspondence reports and documents.
