We are expanding our service department and looking for a skilled Heavy Transmission Technician with experience in Ford and heavy-duty driveline systems to join our team.

Position Summary

The Heavy Transmission Technician will be responsible for diagnosing repairing and rebuilding transmissions and driveline systems on Ford Super Duty trucks commercial vehicles and other heavy-duty models. This role requires strong technical expertise attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality repairs consistent with Ford standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose transmission and driveline issues using Ford diagnostic tools and approved procedures

• Rebuild repair or replace transmissions on heavy-duty Ford vehicles (F-250 F-350 F-450 F-550 etc.)

• Perform repairs on clutches transfer cases differentials and related systems

• Conduct vehicle inspections and recommend necessary repairs or services

• Maintain accurate documentation of all work completed using dealership systems

• Collaborate with service advisors and the parts department to ensure timely repairs

• Stay current on Ford training and certification requirements

• Maintain a safe clean and professional work environment

Qualifications

• 3 years of heavy transmission or driveline repair experience (Ford experience preferred)

• Strong knowledge of Ford systems including TorqShift transmissions and Super Duty platforms

• Ability to use Ford diagnostic software (IDS FDRS)

• Current Ford certifications or willingness to obtain them

• Valid drivers license (CDL is a plus but not required)

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills

• Ford Master Technician or Chassis/Powertrain certifications

• Diesel repair experience (Power Stroke engines)

• Familiarity with dealership service processes and RO documentation

• Ability to work independently and meet productivity goals

Schedule

• MondayFriday with occasional Saturday shifts

• Overtime available depending on workload
