3 months contract with local authority
We are seeking a qualified lawyer authorized to conduct litigation preferably with experience in local authority and adult social care. The role focuses on court of protection welfare and s.21a challenges. This position is crucial for providing expert legal guidance and representation in various areas including ordinary residence judicial reviews community care advice panel deputyships copdol paper applications displacement of nearest relative and coroners matters. The initial term is three months with the possibility of renewal. A full-time commitment of five days is preferred though a four-day compressed schedule may be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct litigation with a focus on court of protection welfare and s.21a challenges.
- Provide legal advice and representation in ordinary residence and judicial review cases.
- Offer community care advice and manage panel deputyships.
- Handle copdol paper applications and displacement of nearest relative cases.
- Engage with coroners matters as required.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer authorized to conduct litigation.
- Experience in local authority and adult social care law.
- Expertise in court of protection welfare and s.21a challenges.
- Knowledge of ordinary residence judicial reviews and community care.
- Ability to manage panel deputyships and copdol paper applications.
- Strong understanding of displacement of nearest relative and coroners matters.
