The Edmonton Police Service is seeking one (1) organized detail-oriented and adaptable individual to support the Online Reporting Unit within the Emergency Communications and Operations Management Branch. This unit is responsible for receiving and triaging online reports and digital evidence related to crimes committed in the City of Edmonton. Key responsibilities include:
- Review Evaluate and intake digital/ online non-emergency reports filed by the public using the online platform CopLogic.
- Ensure high-quality service professional communication and appropriate escalation of issues.
- Electronic and/or physical distribution of online reports to sworn members assigned to the Virtual Investigations Unit Retail Theft Unit Sexual Assault Section Hate and Bias Crimes Section and Emergency Communications and Operations Management Branch.
- The Clerk III position will be responsible for triaging complex crime reports to ensure Crime events involving elements of risk to public safety and/or property are properly analyzed triaged and then escalated to ECOMB for patrol dispatch when required. This critical thinking and risk analysis is critical in ensuring public safety and mitigating organizational risk exposure.
- Identify incomplete or sensitive submissions.
- Ensure proper documentation and follow up with Citizens and organizations submitting reports.
- Searching editing and updating various databases for statistical purposes.
- Tracking reports documentation and diary dates.
- Take on the roles and responsibility of the Online Reporting Unit Supervisor in the absence of the current supervisor when required.
- Assist with onboarding and guiding new/ current members.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Online Reporting Unit.
- Assist the Online Reporting Unit Supervisor with approval of NicheUA Reports.
- Complete scheduling amendments in CARM.
- Other related duties as required.
