About the Role Our client a leading national construction contractor specializing in interior and exterior commercial projects is seeking a Construction Estimator to support their growing operations in Phoenix Arizona. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates completing detailed takeoffs analyzing drawings/specifications and supporting bid proposals across multiple trades such as drywall metal framing prefabrication acoustical systems and related scopes.
This position is critical for ensuring profitable project delivery identifying risks early and maintaining strong communication with both internal teams and customers.

Someone local to Phoenix who can work fully on-site.

A candidate with strong math analytical and problem-solving skills - construction experience is preferred but not required.

Someone who can read and interpret blueprints specifications and contract requirements.

A detail-oriented person who can calculate materials labor costs and overall project budgets with accuracy.

A strong communicator who can coordinate with internal trade departments and communicate with clients during the bidding phase.

A team player who supports project managers and stays engaged through the early project lifecycle.

Ability to identify cost risks and navigate the project away from liabilities.

High proficiency in Excel Word Outlook and the ability to learn bid/takeoff software.

Organized self-driven and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities -
Review drawings blueprints specifications and contract scope to prepare detailed estimates.

Perform material quantity takeoffs and apply accurate labor and equipment costs.

Prepare bid proposals budgets and cost documentation.

Coordinate with internal departments to build complete accurate pricing packages.

Communicate with clients on bid clarifications and changes.
-
Assist project management during project kickoff by explaining the estimate and budget details.

Analyze project risks profitability and potential cost impacts.

Attend site visits pre-bid meetings and internal job meetings as needed.

Maintain compliance with company safety and operational policies.
Required Qualifications -
No prior construction experience required but preferred.

Background in business math finance accounting or cost analysis preferred.

Must be local to Phoenix AZ (no remote work).
