Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Airfreight Coordinator to support our Freight Manager and oversee the end-to-end air export process. You will play a key role in coordinating shipments managing documentation and ensuring seamless execution of airfreight movements within the fast-paced perishable industry. This role also includes various adhoc tasks requiring initiative strong communication and exceptional organisational ability.

Key Performance Outputs

Operations

Coordinate and formalize loading allocations and instructions
Communicate clearly with load points and freight partner
Secure airfreight space and ensure all deadlines are met
Resolve operational issues swiftly

Documentation

Prepare and send loading instructions and custom invoices
Record dispatch and loading data accurately
Maintain the Airfreight Log
Verify final freight documentation and distribute to clients and clearing agents

Logistics

Oversee and adjust block and ad-hoc airfreight bookings
Ensure Freight Forwarder adherence to SOP requirements
Track shipment movements (ETD/ATD/ETA/ATA) and communicate delays
Stay updated on flight schedules and availability
Validate and sign off creditor invoices against quotes/agreements

Pre-Season

Build strong relationships through planned visits
Assist in SOP reviews

Low Season

Support broader logistics functions as needed

Requirements

Education & Experience

Senior Certificate / Grade 12 / Matric
Minimum 3 years experience in the perishable industry
Solid background in airfreight operations
Proven ability to support and coordinate the full air export process from start to finish

Technical Skills

Computer literate: MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
Professional email etiquette
ERP system experience
