Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.

We are hiring an Assistant Person in Charge of our Nursing Home in Co Carlow.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Person in Charge (PIC) in managing the nursing homes daily operations staff and overall organisation.

  • Ensure high-quality person-centred care in a professional and supportive environment.

  • Act as the lead in the PICs absence carrying out responsibilities under the Health Act 2007 and HIQA standards.

  • Provide clinical supervision leadership and mentorship to nursing and care teams.

  • Maintain compliance with all regulations best practices and Sonas policies.

  • Oversee safeguarding procedures and ensure all concerns are appropriately reported and managed.

  • Manage staffing levels to ensure safe efficient and high-quality care delivery.

  • Support staff training and development promoting continuous learning and improvement.

  • Serve as a clinical resource staying updated on nursing best practices.

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Be available to work day night and weekend shifts as required.







Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais and an active PIN.

  • Third-level nursing degree.

  • Minimum of 6 years post-registration experience.

  • At least 2 years experience in a nursing home setting.

  • Minimum of 2 years in a management role.

  • Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or willingness to complete.

  • Qualification in Gerontology or Dementia Care is desirable.

  • Up-to-date certifications in Infection Control Manual/Resident Handling Medication Management Dementia CPR and Safeguarding (training can be provided).

  • Strong leadership organisational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to motivate guide and support a high-performing team.

  • Dedicated to delivering exceptional care for older adults.
