Position Title Construction Inspector (NOC: 22233)
Term of Employment: Permanent Position 40 hours per week Overtime Available
Location of Work: Vancouver BC
Hourly wage: $38.70
Language Requirements: English

We currently have an opening for a Construction Inspector in our Vancouver office.
You will join our vibrant team of Professional Engineers and Technologists on construction projects throughout British Columbia and Western Canada. You will be responsible for providing on site representation and construction services for a variety of projects for a varied client base including the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Municipalities and private sector clients.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Overseeing the on-site construction of various transportation engineering projects.
Engaging in daily contract administration duties as well as site inspection duties to monitor and document Contractor progress workmanship and conformance with the contract documents.
Serving as Associated Engineerings Representative in communicating with the public and other stakeholders through the duration of the construction contract.
Participating in opportunities for contributing to all phases of projects from proposal writing preliminary and detailed design construction inspection and construction administration support
Complying and working within COR certified environment and performing all duties in accordance with those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable legislation.
You will have the opportunity to engage in a collaborative work environment working with a team as well as other disciplines and offices and grow your role and responsibilities over time.



Requirements

3 years in Contract Administration and Site Inspection.
Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution considered an asset.
Experience on transportation projects with specific experience in roadway improvements.
Familiarity with road/bridge construction materials methods and process.
Computer skills including civil3D word excel PDF/Bluebeam markups and windows applications.
Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
Excellent attention to detail accuracy and quality.
Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules.
Demonstrates interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to travel throughout the province.
Track record in managing clients and developing client relationships.
Ability to liaise effectively and clearly with clients both written and verbal.
Comfortable working on a variety of project types in a variety of disciplines and sectors across Canada.
Valid drivers license required. This position requires use of personal vehicle in good working order to be used occasionally for business use for which there is reimbursement.
