The Danish Centre for Health Economics (DaCHE) at the Department of Public Health University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a full-time position as Professor in Global Health Economics and Metrics.

Job description
The Danish Centre for Health Economics is dedicated to applying economic theory and empirical methods to answer research questions with high health policy relevance and to contribute to the improvement of the methods applied. Our main research themes are 1) health relatedbehaviour incentives and motivation; 2) understanding barriers and facilitators that hinder/enhance equity in health and access to health care; 3) eliciting patients and the publics preferences and values; 4) evaluating effects of new interventions/policies; 5) measurement of health burden and economic impact. We apply a broad set of methods in our research: register analysis surveys (including stated preference methods) and experiments (in the field and in the laboratory).We offer courses at the bachelor master and PhD level in Health Economics Evaluation Economic Evaluation Economics of Prevention Global Health Economics and Metrics.

We are looking for candidates with the potential to decisively add to the groups research agenda. Successful candidates can document a track record in conducting high quality research published in top-ranked health economic health policy journals or medical/global health journals. They should have experience working with large global datasets as well as registry-type individual-level administrative datasets. Successful candidates can also document experience with university teaching in subjects related to economics and health economics. The candidate will be expected to teach and/or supervise students at bachelor master and/or PhD level.
We expect the successful candidates to actively engage in the development of the research centre. As senior scholars candidates are expected to contribute actively to the social and academic life at the department as well as participate in the guidance of junior faculty.
It is an expectation that the candidate can document skills in academic leadership an ability to secure external research funding and/or a track record in establishing strong ties with the international research community.
We are looking for candidates who have the desire and competences to play a whole-hearted role in an interdisciplinary and enthusiastic research environment.
