Job Description
The Certified Medical Assistant will work in a busy outpatient clinic setting providing direct support to healthcare providers and ensuring efficient patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills excellent communication abilities and comfort working with both pediatric and adult patients.
Responsibilities
Perform patient intake and prepare individuals for provider evaluation.
Obtain and document accurate vital signs including blood pressure temperature pulse respiration height weight allergies medications and presenting concerns.
Administer medications and vaccines as ordered through oral injectable topical rectal ophthalmic or inhalant routes.
Draw and collect blood samples; prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
Perform routine diagnostic tasks such as EKGs.
Schedule diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion.
Document care plans test results and provider-directed notes in the medical record.
Communicate test results and plan of care to patients as directed.
Clean prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain exam room cleanliness and stock.
Follow established clinical protocols safety guidelines and infection-control procedures.
Escalate unusual patient care issues to the practice manager or provider.
Complete safety checklists and quality-control tasks as required.
Protect patient rights privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Assist with front-office responsibilities as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership or providers.
Requirements
Education
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant within the last 3 years in an outpatient clinic setting (family care urgent care internal medicine).
Must be comfortable working with pediatrics and performing phlebotomy.
