Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Redbridge to assist with the appointment of an Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer on a 6 months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 25.50 - 33.93 per hour

Summary:

Redbridge Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer to manage a caseload of youth justice cases including both out-of-court disposals and statutory court orders. Using a Child First Offender Second approach the role focuses on providing tailored support and interventions to children and young people to complete their orders and live crime-free lives. The officer will work collaboratively with families schools and partner agencies to reduce offending re-offending and disengagement from education employment and training.

The role requires strong communication assessment and case management skills using AssetPlus to implement trauma-informed practices and evidence-based interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of youth justice cases in accordance with National Standards and the HMIP Inspection Framework.
  • Provide effective trauma-informed support and interventions to children and young people to help them complete their disposals/orders and avoid offending.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with children young people families and relevant internal and external partners to secure the best outcomes.
  • Ensure equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practices are embedded in all aspects of work.
  • Use AssetPlus for assessment and planning focusing on building foundations for change and desistance.

Requirements:

  • Social care qualification.
  • Proven experience in youth justice social work or related fields.
  • Knowledge of youth justice legislation statutory frameworks and case management systems.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based interventions and working collaboratively with multi-agency teams.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills for courts and panels.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and approaches to reduce re-offending.
  • Commitment to promoting equality diversity and inclusion.
