Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system UChicago Medicine as a Physical Therapist II. at the Hyde Park campus.

In this role the Physical Therapist performs advanced/specialized physical therapy services/procedures and consultations primarily in area of advanced clinical competency and/or specialty certification. With responsibilities that include supervising and providing clinical instruction for affiliating DPT students during full-time clinical rotations and participating in program development and supporting research and quality/performance improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluates patients utilizing the advanced/specialized test and measurements; to determine the physical therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment.
  • Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical psychosocial and developmental needs of adult and geriatric patients.
  • Establishes a treatment plan based upon the evaluation findings; and the patient/family the referring practitioner and therapists goals.
  • Performs advanced/specialized physical therapy techniques and procedures.
  • Treats patients with complex problems -morbidities and/or poor previous outcomes; consults on difficult cases for staff and referring practitioners.
  • Documents findings; patient progress; and procedures performed and time required.
  • Instructs patients/families in home programs.
  • Demonstrates effective time management; achieves designated productivity standard.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Masters or DPT degree or verification by the APTA of equivalent training in another country.
  • Current physical therapy license in the State of Illinois.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
