Job Summary
(S-130/S-190); in accordance with section 124.11 (B) (2) of revised code Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. Valid commercial drivers license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.

Undergeneral supervision of the Building Maintenance Superintendent 2 to perform skilled and semi-skilledmaintenance in the replacement minor installation and/or repair of plumbingequipment (e.g. water & steam lines sewer pipes trap fittings plumbingfixtures pumps regulators valves faucets toilets sinks bathtubs heating& air conditioning piping drinking fountains etc.) electrical equipment(e.g. light fixtures electrical outlets switches motors applianceselectrical circuits emergency generator fire alarms fans radiostelevisions meters etc.); does semi-skilled and skilled carpentry work in thealteration and/or repair to buildingsequipment and wooden structures (e.g. doors windows walls woodwork floorspartitions stairways furniture door closures) does roof and minor lockrepair and installs security devices and or works alone in painting of fixtures rooms buildings signs& equipment patches drywall and prepares surfaces for painting; doesmasonry work. Operates and maintainsboilers and related equipment (e.g. collects & tests water samples andmakes adjustments based on results performs safety checks start-up and removeboilers from service as directed).
Operatesmachine tools & welding equipment in making repairs to metal parts andequipment assists in repair & maintenance of interior & exteriormaintenance equipment & other specialized equipment (e.g. dentalequipment laboratory equipment etc.)Performs minor vehicle repairs & maintenance (e.g. changes oil &filter checks transmission fluid tire air pressure etc.)
Completework reports orders and inventories maintenance equipment/supplies.
Performs other related duties as required: interior custodial duties related tomaintenance projects (e.g. mops sweeps washes walls & windows); exteriorgroundskeeping duties (e.g. removes snow/ice from walkways spreads salt etc.);attends mandated training sessions and maintenance meetings.
