Job Summary
Responsibilities
Supervise daily lifting operations and ensure all lifts are carried out safely and as per approved procedures.
Prepare review and submit a comprehensive Lifting Plan before commencement of lifting activities.
Ensure all lifting equipment (cranes slings shackles lifting gears) are certified inspected and appropriate for the job.
Coordinate with riggers crane operators and site engineers to ensure safe execution of lifts.
Conduct site risk assessments pre-lift checks method statements and toolbox talks.
Verify ground conditions load weight boom angles radius and crane capacity charts.
Ensure strict compliance with company and client safety standards lifting procedures and regulations.
Monitor lifting operations and stop work immediately if unsafe conditions arise.
Requirements
Experience
Minimum 35 years of experience as a Lifting Supervisor in construction oil & gas heavy lifting or industrial projects.
Experience preparing lifting plans especially for critical heavy or complex lifts.
Qualifications & Certifications (Mandatory)
Valid Lifting Supervisor Certification (e.g. Qatar GCC approved or internationally recognized).
Appointed Person for Lifting Operations Certification.
Recognized training in lifting operations rigging and crane safety.
Required Skills:
Qualifications & Experience Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil / Instrumentation). 10 years experience in multi-discipline QA/QC roles in EPC / Oil & Gas / Infrastructure projects. Certifications required: CSWIP 3.1 / AWS CWI API / ASNT Level II (RT/UT/MPT/PT) NACE / BGAS (for coating) QA/QC Mechanical / Electrical certifications Strong understanding of project inspection procedures and international code requirements.
