Job Summary
Road Construction Supervisor manages daily site operations ensuring projects meet timelines budget and quality standards by overseeing crews enforcing safety coordinating materials/subcontractors and handling reports acting as the crucial link between management workers and other stakeholders for efficient safe road building.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Direct daily activities interpret plans monitor progress and ensure adherence to project specs budgets and schedules.
Safety & Quality: Implement safety protocols conduct risk assessments ensure compliance with codes and perform quality control checks.
Team Management: Supervise workers assign tasks train resolve issues and manage subcontractors and vendors.
Resource & Planning: Schedule work manage equipment order materials and plan for roadblocks.
Reporting: Prepare daily logs compile records and provide status updates to management.
Communication: Liaise with clients engineers and local agencies; maintain clear communication for smooth workflow.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of construction methods safety regulations (OSHA) and equipment.
Experience with civil engineering drawings and potentially CAD software.
High school diploma; often supplemented by an Associates or Bachelors in Construction Management/Civil Engineering.
Required Skills:
Conducting surveys and gathering data for land development and construction projects. Designing and setting up survey systems including total stations and GPS receivers. Performing calculations and analyzing data to produce accurate survey reports.
