The University of Miami Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Patient Courier (U)(Transportation). The Patient Courier (U) (Transportation) is responsible for transporting patients safely and efficiently to and from all departments as coordinated.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
Transports patients efficiently and in a timely manner to and from the Department in accordance with department time standards as evidenced by random activity log audits.
Responsible for performing various aide activities under the direction of a radiologic technologist such as putting the patient on the exam table.
Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during the assigned shift.
. Accurately notes all patients names by identifying them by their name and medical record number as evidenced by random observation by supervisor.
Properly documents required information on floor log sheet for each transport perform ancillary department as monitored by random audits of logs.
Check with patients Nurse prior to the start of any activity/transport. Only transports patients with identification bracelets and following clearance from the patients nurse
Correctly stores all contrast media within the department
Maintains patients privacy during transport utilizing sheets/blankets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
BLS Certification
Minimum of six months experience as a courier in a hospital setting preferred
