The Opportunity:
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at Mackenzie Medical Centre (MMC) following the forthcoming retirement of one of our senior GPs. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed General Practitioner to join our vibrant collegiate and forward-thinking team to work 8 sessions a week.
Mackenzie Medical Centre is the clinical arm of the Usher Institute and sits within the Centre for Population Health Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. The practice is wholly owned by the Universityall staff are University employeeswhile simultaneously operating under a standard NHS GMS contract with NHS Lothian. This unique structure allows us to combine the stability and ethos of NHS general practice with the academic collaborative and developmental culture of a leading global university.

Teaching is deeply woven into the identity of general practice at Edinburghindeed the University of Edinburgh established the first Chair of General Practice in the world marking a long tradition of innovation and leadership in the discipline. Your skills and attributes for success:
MRCGP
Current full GMC registration
Enthusiastic willing and able to work as part of a team
Effective communication with a positive approach
Leadership skills
Willing to be involved in student teaching.
