Job Summary
Position: RN Obstetrics / Labor & Delivery
Location: Cooperstown NY 13326
Type: 13-Week Contract (Travel or Local)
Shift: Day 5x8s MondayFriday
About the Role
The Obstetrics RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit. This position requires strong critical thinking patient education and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe positive childbirth outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery
- Provide patient-centered support with pain management and labor techniques
- Collaborate with the OB care team during deliveries including emergency cases
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn care practices
- Ensure accurate and timely electronic documentation
- Participate in professional growth and unit-based training opportunities
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York State
- 1 year of recent L&D experience preferred
- Current BLS & ACLS; NRP certification desirable
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Commitment to safe compassionate and evidence-based practice
