Job Summary

The Department of Agricultural Economics in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for one full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) faculty position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning August 1 2026. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Lecturer or Assistant Professor of the Practice in Sales Management depending on qualifications. This Academic Professional Track (APT) faculty position will contribute to the advancement of our undergraduate teaching programs in sales and sales management within the Weston Agrifood Sales Program and provide promotion opportunities following university guidelines. Responsibilities for this position include teaching three courses per semester at the undergraduate level. Professional service leadership studentmentoring and other scholarly activitiesin teaching and learning are expected.

The Department of Agricultural Economics is a large department with a broad array of programs faculty and students focusing on the application of economic analysis to decision problems in agriculture natural resources agribusiness finance and community economics.   • Bachelors level degree in agricultural economics economics business or related field plus extensive (10 years) senior level sales management industry experience.
  • Have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students faculty and staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work within a community.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in Agricultural Economics Agribusiness Economics Business or a related field.
  • Teaching experience at the college/school level in the field.
  • Previous experience in corporate business-to-business sales and sales management marketing or business management.
  • The ability to demonstrate strong teaching capability.
