Position Summary:
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to the Dufferin Concrete & Ontario Redimix fleet of vehicles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections diagnosis & repair ready-mix trucks through preventative & scheduled maintenance.
- Perform removal rework and installation of various engine and chassis components.
- Use leading diagnostic technology to identify breakdowns.
- Order required parts and maintaining parts inventory.
- Document repairs on work orders and complete inspections sheets as required.
- Communicate with operations and supervisory staff on availability of equipment.
- Prioritize jobs and work safely on all equipment.
- Follow shop procedures and company policies relating to use of shop and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- All other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Registered as a 310T Truck and Coach Technician Apprentice
- Currently at Level 3 (Advanced) of the apprenticeship program.
- Progress toward completion of 6000 hours on-the-job training and 720 hours in-school training (240 hours per level).
- Valid class G Drivers License.
- Ability to preform advanced tasks including diagnostics electronic systems and complex repairs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a safety-first approach.
- Ability to travel to local sites as required.
