Job Summary

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Maintenance Connect) to track work orders schedule maintenance and maintain accurate records.
  • Troubleshoot issues and resolve operational problems.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing maintenance-related inquiries from staff and management.
  • Complete minor repairs such as tables cupboards and shelves; repair walls doors floors ceilings and windows by applying materials such as drywall wood paneling floor and ceiling coverings and glass.
  • Replace plumbing fixtures
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety regulations.

Education Training and Experience:

  • Grade 10 plus two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience
  • Valid BC Drivers License

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Familiarity with automated systems is preferred.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail in maintaining equipment.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to The New Vista Society you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.

Job Types: Part-time Casual
