Job Summary
The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester in Rochester NY is seeking a dedicated radiologist to join the abdominal imaging division.
Abdominal imaging faculty perform CT/MRI/US/Abdominal Fluoroscopy and PET/CT with internal sub-specialization in line with a faculty members interests. The division presently consists of 14 faculty members supported by licensed professional extenders and a dedicated radiology communication center.
We provide diagnostic imaging and teaching at the primary medical center and collaborate with superb clinical colleagues. Biopsies and other procedures are performed by a separate interventional division. Overnight coverage is provided by a separate emergency radiology division.
The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester is a practice of approximately 90 radiologists and 25-30 residents and fellows and is actively expanding fellowship research and advocacy programs. Technical highlights include state of the art information technology 3T MRI a PET/MRI Dual Energy CT and digital PET/CT. The departments PACS system is integrated into a comprehensive electronic clinical information system. Annual study volumes surpass 900000 across multiple locations throughout our region. There are many opportunities to develop research in collaboration with clinical colleagues as well as basic science/engineering groups at the university. Multiple academic activity tracks allow promotion through scholarly education or clinical activity.
Rochester is a mid-sized city with extensive cultural and recreational opportunities. The majority of faculty children attend excellent public schools with many subsequently admitted to highly competitive universities.
