Lumen Christi Cook - Kitchen Worker
# HOURS PER WEEK: Minimum 35 hours WEEKLY SCHEDULE: Schedule may vary from week to week dependingon retreat schedules and bookings. Flexibility is required includingavailability for weekends and evenings as needed.
WEEKEND WORK: Must be ableto work weekends during retreats.
POSITION SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THEFOLLOWING:
(other duties may be assigned)
- Preparing and serving meals in Menard and Souby
- Purchase food and needed supplies
- Assist with planning menus and related activities such as dining room and special medical diets if needed
- Give special attention to portion control
- Maintain all workstations for efficiency and cleanliness
- Keep Pantry coolers and freezers organized and clean
- Assist in housekeeping with room cleaning and laundry in Menard and Souby

QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
Education and/or Experience:
Language Skills:
- Must be able to communicate clearly to all by phone verbally and in written form.
- Required to speak English.
Computer Skills:
Certificates Licenses Registrations:
- All employees of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux are required to hold Safe Environment Training and update every 3 years. This training includes a criminal background check.
- Cooks are required to obtain a ServSafe Certificate and renew every 5 years.
Physical Demands:
- Repetitive hand motions
- Ability to lift 20 pounds.
