We are seeking an accomplished Principal Technology Architect to lead the modernisation of data platforms and ETL processes within the Banking and Financial Services sector. The successful candidate will be a recognised thought leader in enterprise data architecture possessing deep expertise in Snowflake Teradata and Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC). This role focuses on designing secure scalable and regulatory-compliant data solutions that drive business innovation in a dynamic financial environment.
We are seeking an accomplished Principal Technology Architect to lead the modernisation of data platforms and ETL processes within the Banking and Financial Services sector. The successful candidate will be a recognised thought leader in enterprise data architecture possessing deep expertise in Snowflake Teradata and Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC). This role focuses on designing secure scalable and regulatory-compliant data solutions that drive business innovation in a dynamic financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and modernising data platforms tailored specifically to banking and financial services by leveraging Snowflake Teradata and Informatica IDMC.
- Leading ETL modernisation initiatives to optimise data integration transformation and governance.
- Ensuring all solutions comply with industry regulations data privacy standards (such as GDPR and PCI DSS) and bank-specific compliance requirements.
- Managing cross-functional teams in the design and deployment of secure and highly available data architectures.
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to translate financial requirements into robust technical roadmaps.
- Establishing best practices for data quality lineage and operational efficiency in banking data environments.
- Mentoring engineering teams and promoting a culture of data-driven decision making.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- 20 Years of total experience in Data platforms/ETL/BI with minimum 5-7 years of Experience in technology leadership roles.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- Proven expertise in Snowflake and Teradata architecture and data warehousing within banking and financial contexts.
- Strong understanding of platform setup and networking in complex data environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Informatica IDMC for ETL modernisation data integration and governance.
- Demonstrated success in migrating legacy financial data platforms to cloud-native solutions.
- Expertise in regulatory and security frameworks for financial services.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with both business and technology stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with Mainframe systems.
- Hands-on exposure to reporting tools such as MicroStrategy BusinessObjects Qlik Tableau PowerBI SAS and others.
- Familiarity with a variety of ETL tools including Informatica ODI Ab-initio etc.
- Background in senior architect roles within banks fintechs or financial services organisations.
- Certifications in Snowflake or Informatica technologies.
- Exposure to Gen-AI solutions for code conversion or migration.
- Experience with industry data standards regulatory audits and data privacy regulations.
- Background in Data Governance Data Catalog Lineage and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
