In our well-equipped lab we carefully study the behavior of materials and perform a mix of routine and customized tests. The main goal of the tests is to assess how materials behave under different conditions and thus prevent corrosion or degradation in practice.
What will your day look like
You will perform exposure tests in which we expose coupons (test plates) of the material to be tested to standardized or non-standardized conditions for a period of several weeks to months. You will carefully prepare the coupons before they are placed in a test room for a specified period.
You will monitor the test and perform evaluations of the coatings (visual inspection adhesion tests etc.).
You will also perform corrosion tests by exposing coupons to certain chemicals at elevated temperatures. You will monitor the test progress. The coupons are then removed from the test and examined for corrosion. You will map the corrosion allowing for comparison of different materials.
