About the Role
This position requires strict adherence to Commonwealth of Virginia project management standards and mandatory onsite attendance at the ELECT offices in Richmond VA. The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience managing large-scale complex and high-pressure technology projects preferably within a government environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of the SVRS project in alignment with Commonwealth standards.
- Daily coordination with ELECT leadership project teams and external stakeholders.
- Attending daily virtual and in-person project meetings.
- Tracking and reporting project performance metrics in the Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP).
- Ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Project Management Standard.
- Overseeing the SVRS project calendar and managing critical project milestones.
- Leading and preparing project briefings for internal and external audiences including the Interagency Oversight Committee (IOC).
- Supporting cross-functional collaboration with the ELECT SVRS project team.
- Leading risk management activities and documenting mitigation strategies.
- Maintaining detailed accurate project documentation and ensuring project governance adherence.
Required Education & Experience
- Active PMP certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
A copy must be submitted or the candidate will not be considered. - Documented hands-on risk management experience in complex technology projects.
- Successful completion of a Category 1 or 2 Commonwealth of Virginia project valued at $5M
OR completion of a non-COV project valued at $10M as the Project Manager of record. - Bachelor s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with the Commonwealth Project Management (CPM) Methodology for large-scale projects (>$10M).
- Review of PM qualifications consistent with VITA PMQR and CIO oversight requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent written verbal and client-facing communication skills.
- Strong organizational multitasking and attention-to-detail capabilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently without close supervision.
