Job Summary:
This position is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a Long-Term Care facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting patients with daily living activities collecting patient data and ensuring efficient functioning of the department. Previous travel experience is required.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including range of motion ambulation positioning and skin care.
- Distribute linen and change beds as needed.
- Assist with feeding meal delivery routine hygiene toileting and incontinent care.
- Collect urine stool and sputum specimens.
- Obtain and record weights vital signs pulse oximetry pain assessment and I&O.
- Communicate patient status and report changes in patient condition to licensed professionals.
- Perform incentive spirometry and transport patients.
- Prepare rooms assist with admissions and discharges and provide post-mortem care.
- Assist nurses in emergency situations.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Perform oral and nasopharyngeal suctioning.
- Perform blood sugar finger sticks.
- Remove IV catheters per licensed nurse instruction.
- Perform EKGs (department specific).
- Answer unit phones direct calls and perform data entry into electronic medical records.
- Document patient care and related duties.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs and notify appropriate departments of equipment malfunctions.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active CNA license (Alaska CNA license can be pending but application must be submitted)
- If AK CNA license is pending must have a valid CNA license in another state and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- BLS Provider CPR certification from AHA.
- Minimum 1 year of LTC experience.
- Previous travel experience.

Special Considerations:
- Little to no RTO is allowed. Must be willing to work holidays. All RTO must be sent with submittal and will not be considered after an offer or contract signing.
- Traveler can be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks.
- The clinician will float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Pets are not allowed in the provided housing.
- Housing units are typically large enough to accommodate only the traveler. Bringing additional family members is not common and needs to be approved by the facility.
- Housing unit will need to be cleaned upon departure or it will be subject to additional cleaning fees billed to traveler.
- Vehicles for traveler use are provided solely for use around town and should not be taken off-road or outside of 30-mile radius from facility.
- If traveler has time off during their contract they must turn in the vehicle during time off and they will be issued a new vehicle when they return.
- If you would like tire chains for vehicle this is will be an additional cost billed to traveler.
- Vehicle must be cleaned before return and with a full tank of gas.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 Variable Shifts (Days or Nights dependent on facility needs at the start date)
- Caregivers are not asked to rotate between night/day shifts (occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs).
- Guaranteed 84 hours per 2 weeks.
