Job Description
The Electrical Design Engineer will direct coordinate and exercise functional authority for the design planning organization control integration and completion of engineering projects. The role involves reading and understanding written specifications contract drawings and developing a complete design within electrical design standards and project quotations. The engineer will analyze engineering schematics specifications and related data to determine design factors ensuring all designs comply with engineering specs company standards and customer contract requirements.
Responsibilities
Produce accurate and thoroughly self-verified electrical device and panel layouts motor control I/O schematics and bill of materials.
Provide project support to field engineers project managers purchasing and panel fabricators.
Evaluate and approve design changes specifications and drawing releases.
Use computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
Communicate task completion status with the project team.
Design and develop detailed layouts for electrical circuits systems for power distribution industrial control panels and industrial network architectures.
Interface extensively with customers providing support for installation commissioning and design modifications.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
Experience in controls engineering HMI and controls design.
Skilled in designing electrical circuits/systems schematics and panel layouts.
Familiarity with PLC programming.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards such as UL508A NEC and NFPA.
Strong understanding of electrical equipment and local building codes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related area and/or at least 5 years of experience in the field.
Extensive knowledge of the fields concepts practices and procedures as related to design.
