Department Information

Our Labor Trades and Crafts are an essential part of Adams State Universitys success. ASU Facilities Services Department supports the mission of the institution by providing a safe comfortable fully functional and aesthetically pleasing campus community environment by assisting with set-up for indoor/outdoor special and athletic events performed on ASU campus.

Description of Job

This position assists Facilities Services personnel with performance of their duties with aspecial emphasis on strenuous general labor tasks. This will include but not be limited to: custodial cleaning office and construction moves special events set-ups and take-downs recycling orders grounds/nursery deliveries and conferences.

Other duties performed by this position include:

  • Assist set-up for indoor/outdoor special and athletic events.
  • Assist with scheduled moves within the campus community Moving offices around after construction projects or remodels.
  • Clean campus facilities before during and after indoor/outdoor special and athletic events
  • Perform project deep cleaning
  • Assists ground/nursery crew by shoveling raking. Lifting carrying pushing pulling and/or other means with various tasks including snow removal and plowing.
  • Small equipment repair
  • Maintenance of recycling bins and material
  • Light painting
  • Light and ballast repairs
  • Pressure washing and window cleaning of buildings
  • Performing general custodial duties.
  • Operate machinery.
  • Must be willing to perform work duties while exposed to extremes in weather elements (i.e. snow in the winter heat in the summer).
  • This position must understand SDS Sheets proper use of cleaning chemicals water naturalsoaps synthetic detergents/surfactants solvents acid alkaline cleaners etc. The use of these chemicals requires proper safety precautions and knowledge of various chemical hazards.

** This position is required to work flexible schedules including split shifts weekends and evenings to provide adequate coverage as needed.

In this position you will be required to exert or lift in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. for force constantly. It also requires constant or frequent climbing stooping kneeling crouching crawling handling pushing pulling and reaching.

Possession of a current valid unrestricted State of Colorado Drivers license is required for this position. The successful applicant must maintain the ability to independently travel in the performance of job-related duties.Please submit a copy of your Drivers License with your application.
