At South Coast Baptist College (SCBC) we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant music culture and inspiring students to reach their full potential through both individual instruction and collective performance opportunities. We are currently seeking passionate and skilled Casual Music Tutors to join our team and contribute to the development of our exceptional music program.

The role of Casual Music Tutor will involve providing instrumental tuition leading ensembles and offering collaborative support to the schools music program. The successful candidate will help inspire students encourage musical excellence and contribute to a dynamic co-curricular experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one instrumental lessons and prepare students for performances and examinations.
  • Lead and support music ensembles fostering teamwork and musicianship.
  • Collaborate with music teachers to integrate instrumental and general music programs.
  • Inspire students to reach their musical potential and provide feedback on progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress and communicate with parents and staff.


Selection Criteria:

  • Passion for music education and inspiring students.
  • Experience in leading ensembles and fostering collaboration.
  • Appropriate music qualifications and expertise in at least one instrument.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with students parents and staff.

Essential Criteria:

  • Agreement with the Colleges ethos and values.
  • Acceptance of the Colleges Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board Principal staff students and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practice.
  • Ensure decisions are impartial fact-based and fair.
  • Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
  • Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
  • Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the Colleges values and policies.
  • Possession of the following certifications:
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate
