The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation treatment habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions jail-based evaluations supervised group home and residential programs forensic evaluation care custody and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric services are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana
ELMHS is looking for a motivated detail-oriented and positive individual to join our team as a Psych Aide 3!
Minimum Qualifications
Eighteen months of experience in providing behavioral health or developmentally disabled services or psychiatric patient care; OR
Nine semester hours of college coursework in a social sciences field education social work child guidance or nursing; OR
One year of experience in providing behavioral health or developmentally disabled services or psychiatric patient care plus a Behavioral Health Aide Diploma from a vocational technical college with an approved curriculum from the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In this role you will:
- Provides emotional/physical support as indicated based on knowledge of the patients psychiatric disorder communication skills and behavior.
- Communicates to nursing staff all verbal interactions with patients.
- Maintains appropriate therapeutic staff - patient relationship and utilizes knowledge of therapeutic techniques.
- Performs specialized patient care activities such as range of motion postmortem care isolation techniques and observation of restrained patients.
- Serves as lead worker over Psychiatric Aides of a lower level.
- Performs all duties of lower-level psychiatric aides.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Work Schedule:Days or Nights
Compensation:
- This position is eligible for an SER rate of $13.91 an hour or $1112.80 bi-weekly
- This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):
- $1.00 an hour for Facility Longevity
- $1.50 an hour for Recruitment and Retention
