The Jail-Based Treatment Program (JBTP) provides specialized behavioral health services for patients awaiting transfer to a state hospital for further psychiatric treatment. The unit is a therapeutic environment providing intensive day treatment services. By providing patient-centered evidenced-based and holistic care the JBTP seeks to eliminate the need for these patients to transfer to the state hospital or at a minimum to decrease their length of stay once hospitalized. The ultimate aim is to assist defendants in moving forward with their legal case and with their lives in a healthier place.
The ideal candidate has experience as a RN in a mental health or correctional setting (e.g. psychiatric hospital; mental health clinic; jail/prison) and in working within a multidisciplinary team.
This RN position is specific to the THRIVE program which operates Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. NOTE: Actual shift and schedule will be determined based on candidate and program needs.
The Psychiatric Registered Nurse(JBTP) is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnosing mental health conditions to facility residents that protects the rights dignity and health of our unique patient population. Additional responsibilities may include and not be limited to:
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications
Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
Physical Capabilities:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds) bend squat reach push pull walk significant distances and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
