General Definition of Work
The job of Electrical Foreman is done for the purpose/s of planning supervision of construction installation maintenance and repair of primarily secondary electrical systems equipment and fixtures and maintaining electrical systems and components in safe operating condition; providing information on proper operation of electrical systems; identifying location of existing electrical systems; determining the efficient installation of additional systems; and directing assigned employees.
Qualifications
Must possess a strong background in commercial or industrial electrical systems with the ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical diagrams to plan efficient installations and repairs. They should have proven experience installing maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of electrical components including fire alarms lighting communication systems and underground conduit while adhering to applicable electrical codes and safety standards. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for coordinating with administration and other assigned personnel as well as for preparing documentation maintaining records estimating materials and procuring supplies. The candidate must be capable of responding to emergencies managing multiple tasks effectively and training staff in proper trade practices and safety procedures. Reliability attention to detail and the physical ability to transport tools and equipment are also required to ensure safe efficient and high-quality work.

The normal place of work is on the premises used by Rock Hill Schools. Rock Hill Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Analyze drawings (e.g. blueprints sketches or diagrams) for the purpose of identifying the location of new and existing electrical systems and determining the efficient installation of additional systems.
- Attend meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
- Directs personnel assigned for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting shift requirements.
- Estimates materials and/or equipment needed to complete work projects for the purpose of ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Installs electrical systems (e.g. underground electrical conduit fire alarms switchboards audio visual alarms etc.) for the purpose of providing updated enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Prepare documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
- Procures equipment supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
- Record work orders inspections and purchases for the purpose of documenting information for other personnel.
- Repairs electrical systems including communications overloads lighting fixtures etc. for the purpose of ensuring proper/safe operation of equipment.
- Repairs various items systems and/or components for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working conditions.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Trains assigned personnel for the purpose of developing professional trade and safety awareness skills.
- Transports various items (e.g. tools equipment supplies etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
- Knowledge of electrical systems components and equipment used in commercial and industrial environments.
- Knowledge of electrical codes safety regulations and industry standards.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading technical diagrams and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems audio/visual alarms switchboards and communication systems.
- Knowledge of proper maintenance diagnostic and repair procedures for electrical systems.
- Proficient in installing maintaining and repairing electrical systems and related components.
- Skill in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing diagnostics efficiently.
- Ability to accurately estimate materials equipment and labor needed for projects.
- Strong documentation skills for preparing reports completing work orders and recording inspections.
- Effective coordination and communication skills for working with administrators contractors and others.
- Competence in training personnel in safe work practices and trade techniques.
- Skill in organizing and transporting tools equipment and materials to various job sites.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have experience and knowledge of low and high voltage applications in a commercial environment.
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred but not required depending on position level.
- Experience Consisting of Industrial Commercial and Residential Wiring
- Completion of a vocational technical or trade school program in electrical technology preferred.
- Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program is highly desirable.
- Several years of progressively responsible experience in electrical installation maintenance and repair in commercial industrial or institutional settings.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints technical diagrams and electrical specifications.
- Experience coordinating with multiple trades and working on multi-phase construction or maintenance projects.
Special Requirements
- C. State Commercial Electrical License
- Must have and maintain a valid Drivers License or ability to provide your own transportation.
- May be required to hold a Journeyman or Master Electrician license depending on jurisdiction.
- Must be able to pass background checks employment verifications and/or fingerprinting as required by the organization.
- Required to follow strict safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May need to complete ongoing safety electrical code and professional development training.
- Must be able to operate district or company vehicles and specialized electrical equipment safely.
- May be required to travel between multiple job sites throughout the workday
- Must be available for on-call duty overtime evening or weekend work to respond to emergencies.

- Must be able to work in confined spaces at heights and in varied weather conditions.
- Frequently squat stoop or kneel reach above the head and reach forward.
- Frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this position.
