Description
HeartShare St. Vincents Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program is dedicated to providing 38 unaccompanied minors ages 5-17 with a supportive nurturing environment through transitional foster homes daily education Monday - Friday and supportive wrap-around services in the Sunset Park section of New York City. Our program is rooted in ensuring that service delivery is trauma informed culturally appropriate and tailored to the needs of each child while maintaining all program requirements of ORR. A Case Aide supports Caseworkers by assisting with documentation scheduling client transportation and communication. They help ensure child safety facilitate family reunification and maintain accurate service records.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:
Provide case management support and coordinate community referrals.
Assist Caseworker with essential paperwork and documentation.
Schedule and prioritize work duties in partnership with the supervisor and other team members and in adherence to ORR state licensing and internal deadlines.
Administer case notes and documentation on time based on guidelines and procedures set forth.
Assist Case Managers with providing ongoing education and support services to foster parents.
Maintain contact with clients and foster families during a Caseworkers absence to ensure coverage of all program cases.
Nuevo Camino is looking to hire staff to fill the following:Shift 3 (Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)Schedule C: Sunday - Thursday
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to read write and speak proficiently.Required
- Associates degree in the behavioral sciences human services or social services fields or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates degree in Psychology Human Services or other related field. required; Bachelors Degree or bachelors in social work preferred.
- Valid Drivers License required
- 1 year of experience
- Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service.
- Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks.
- Exercise a high level of confidentiality. Work well under pressure and adaptable to change.
- Child welfare and/or case management experience is strongly encouraged.
- Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.
