To reinforce the Synechron Switzerland team we are seeking for a passionate Data Engineer with Data Architecture skills. In the hybrid environment you will help maintain existing pipelines build new data pipelines using modern cloud-native technologies and SaaS and shape the future of the enterprise data architecture. Our mission is for one of our clients a Private Bank in Geneva.
Your responsibilities:
As a Data Engineer at Synechron Switzerland you will:
- Design implement and maintain robust data pipelines and enterprise data architectures ensuring consistency scalability and alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze modernize and optimize existing data platforms and procedures leveraging both on-premises and cloud-native technologies (e.g. AWS Terraform SaaS).
- Promote data governance policies including data quality lineage metadata management and stewardship.
- Lead the design and implementation of conceptual logical and physical data models (e.g. star schema data vault) and ensure best practices in data modeling across the organization.
- Onboard and integrate a variety of internal and external data sources including structured unstructured and real-time data streams.
- Prepare and deliver data models and solutions to stakeholders enabling advanced analytics reporting and machine learning initiatives.
- Evaluate select and implement appropriate technologies and frameworks for data storage processing and integration.
Qualifications :
Your profile and skills:
- You hold a university degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent qualification.
- You possess proven experience in data engineering ideally within the Private Asset or Hedge Fund sector.
- You have strong expertise in SQL and experience with Informatica PowerCenter for maintaining and analyzing data pipelines.
- You are familiar with cloud services especially AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- You have knowledge of data governance tools and practices (data catalog lineage stewardship).
- You have experience in Python development specifically with data handling libraries such as Pandas and dbt.
- You understand data integration patterns (ETL/ELT streaming batch) and modern data platforms (e.g. lakehouse data mesh).
- You are knowledgeable about data security privacy and compliance requirements.
- You demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- You are a team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in both spoken and written French is mandatory along with proficiency in English.
- You are a resident of Switzerland or willing to relocate.
