Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer to join our team supporting mission-critical systems for a Federal customer at Fort Meade MD. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in Java development and a strong desire to learn and grow within a highly secure fast-paced environment. Working alongside senior developers and system engineers you will contribute to the design development and maintenance of reliable and scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop test and maintain Java-based applications.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering and solution design.
- Write clean efficient and well-documented code following best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Support integration testing and deployment of applications within secure classified environments.
- Assist in improving development processes documentation and coding standards.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience
- 58 years of hands-on software development experience preferably with Java.
Preferred
- Java certification or relevant academic coursework.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Java programming.
- Understanding of object-oriented design principles and development.
- Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA.
- Basic understanding of secure coding practices cybersecurity concepts and federal IT standards.
- Ability to work under strict security protocols and within classified environments.
Additional Requirements
- Must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Strong communication analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in team-oriented settings.
