Job Summary
Job Description
Does general library work including interlibrary loans cataloging journal check-in phone reference and some database searching. Works independently and can keep the library open when the librarians are not available.
Duties and Requirements:
Knowledge and understanding of databases medical journals and books
Assist patrons with literature searches
Promote library resources and services by creating content and scheduling presentations
Update the library website as needed
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Maintain and develop the librarys physical collection of monographs and serials microfiche and archives.
Participate on hospital research committees
Keep abreast of current trends in medical libraries
Ensure the library facilities are well maintained
Qualifications:
Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or Master of Library Science (MLS) from an American Library Association accredited institution preferred.
