Job description: Senior Account Executive
Role
Establishing themselves as a key point of contact for clients; supporting the growth of accounts by proactively leading and managing delivery of small projects and relevant aspects of large projects
Main duties
Client and Account Management
- Takes a client brief and shares with internal teams to initiate new projects
- Onsite practical experience and attendance at some face-to-face client meetings
- Leads TCs (with support from senior management where required)
- Leads face-to-face client and supplier meetings (with support from senior management where required)
- Responsible for leading management and delivery of a range of small projects
- Responsible for management of accurate status and contact reports whether developed directly or reviewing a version drafted by junior colleagues and proactive liaison with clients about projects for which they are responsible
Processes and Financials
- Understands internal and client processes & highlights opportunities for optimisation
- Able to use all elements of project management system (e.g. CMAP) to efficiently track project progress
- Regularly reviews project progress to predict overspend flag to senior management and mitigate where possible
- Shows an understanding of overall strategy revenue and pipeline
- Keeps timesheets updated regularly
- Puts together outlines for budgets for a range of project types to a good degree of accuracy
- Completes reconciliations on time and accurately tracks out of scope work and starts to justify any project overage
- Develops timelines for medium sized projects understanding critical deadlines and potential bottle necks
Commercial and Scientific acumen
- Shows understanding and interest in key accounts and can contribute to development of content briefs/assisting with slide development
- Keeps up-to-date with client therapy area & industry news
- Shares relevant articles with internal teams
- Able to present experience and knowledge gained to internal teams (e.g. lunch & learns)
- Demonstrates experience gained across multiple therapy areas and multiple clients
New Business
- Provides support on slides for pitches where appropriate. If opportunity has taken part in a TC pitch
- Supports account leads with ensuring organic growth via new projects with the same client through optimal project delivery
Reports to: Senior Account Manager or above
Personal requirements
- Degree educated
- Minimum 1 year experience in Medical Communications or similar/equivalent agency/pharma sector
- Proven track record of strong project management and communication skills
- Experience of effectively managing small projects/small parts of large projects and working collaboratively within a team
- Proficiency in all usual Microsoft Office applications
