Berwick PA - Talen Energy is soliciting candidates interested in filling the position ofSourcing Agent (Buyer) at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station located near Berwick Pennsylvania.

Susquehanna Steam Electric Station one of the largest dual-unit Boiling Water Reactor sites in the U.S. delivers approximately 2700 MW of electricity to the grid in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Susquehanna Nuclear is a member in good standing with the Utilities Service Alliance. Job Responsibilities

* Performsupply chain and logistics functions which may include but are not limited to material procurement production planning inventory control outsourcing vendor selection and distribution.

* Createintegrated processes among internal functions such as operations purchasing and logistics and outside suppliers.

* Focusresources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goal on a regular basis.

* Promotealignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization with the Supply Chain group includingSupply Chain Logistics and Materials Management.

* Required knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

* Buildknowledge of the organization processes and customers.

* Solvea range of straightforward problems is essential.

* Analyzepossible solutions using standard procedures is necessary.

* Receivea moderate level of guidance and direction is preferred.

* Perform related job duties as assigned.

Buyer

Basic Requirements

Minimum 2 years of buying experience is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and databasesis essential
Negotiation and analytical skillsare necessary
Must possess effective written oral and interpersonal communication skills
Must have demonstrated problem-assessment and problem-solving skills
Must possess a strong customer service focus with ability to build credibility with internal clients and external suppliers

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or other advanced degree or CPM certification.
Background in Lean and/or Six Sigma
Strong Customer Service Focus
Strong Leadership Skills
Strong interpersonal skills for interface with individuals at all levels.
