Office of Enforcement Executive Division
The Executive Division coordinates and administers the various activities of the Office of Enforcement in Baton Rouge LA. Among the primary responsibilities of the Executive Directors Office staff is the oversight of statutory responsibilities and regulations professional service contracts budget personnel information safety and emergency matters.
LOCATION AND POSITION INFORMATION:
The Petroleum Scientist Administrator serves as the Orders Division Director within the Office of Enforcement and is responsible for managing directing and coordinating all activities of the Division including the oversight of enforcement actions and the District Offices.
A bachelors degree in a geoscience field or engineering plus six years of experience in the evaluation of oil and gas drilling oil and gas production and/or oil and gas transportation mining engineering or geology; OR
A masters degree in a geoscience field or engineering plus five years of the required specialized experience; OR
A doctorate in a geoscience field or engineering plus four years of the required specialized experience.

Job Duties:
This position provides strategic leadership for the Divisions programs and operations ensures compliance with applicable state and federal laws and serves as the primary advisor to the Executive Director on matters affecting the Divisions mission programs and personnel. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Directs and oversees all Division programs initiatives enforcement actions and related activities to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Advises the Executive Director and executive leadership on programs policies enforcement matters and associated budgetary or personnel impacts.
Provides strategic leadership to Division staff by setting goals priorities and performance standards aligned with departmental objectives.
Represents the Department at meetings conferences and workshops at the local state and national levels.
Develops monitors and manages the Divisions budget; reviews and approves expenditures contracts purchase orders and inter-agency agreements for fiscal compliance.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director or executive leadership.

Appointment Type: This vacancy is being announced as a classified position and is open to all qualified applicants. This position requires the selected applicant to serve a minimum probationary period of twelve (12) months. A current permanent status state employee may be required to accept a probational appointment in lieu of promotion.
